Des del carrer se sent un repugnant crit de nen. Jo jec i miro d'imaginar un turment per a ell. El que més m'agrada és fer-los caure catalèptics i que parin de moure's de cop. Els pares els arrosseguen cap a casa. Jeuen al llit i no poden ni tan sols menjar, perquè no se'ls obre la boca. Els han d'alimentar artificialment. Al cap d'una setmana la catalèpsia ha remès, però els nens estan tan dèbils que han d'estar-se encara un mes al llit. Després, de mica en mica, van recuperant la salut. Llavors jo els etzibo una segona catalèpsia i la dinyen tots.
